Go to
C:\Documents and Settings\[your user]\Application Data\Mozilla\ And delete the Firefox folder in there. The application data folder is hidden by default, so you have to enable the 'view hidden files and folers'. By deleting the Firefox folder in Application data, you're basically deleting all your preferences/configurations, this makes firefox start as 'brand new'. That usually fixes weird stuff.

it's a shame to blat your preferences, but it's better to get the thing started rather than worry about your settings
![]() An uninstall/reinstall doesn't get rid of all those settings, see? So try what selo said and you should end up with a default out of the box Firefox ![]() |

Well after over a month of reading Z's post (me lazy), I finally updated my McAfee software and after running a scan and murdering several virus'/adware/other crap, it works!
I'm not sure what caused the problem, because McAfee just killed everything the second it found it, but it works and that's all I really care about. I have returned to plague you!!! Last edited by Nebuchadnezzar; 25 May 2008 at 12:59 am. |
