Nani? is just really nice

Rage against my Machine: Ad-war-e!

Yes, I used more puns in that title than I'm comfortable with.

Anyway, I'm proud of myself for getting rid of annoying Adware.

That's kinda it. I just used system restore and virus scanned, followed by putting an axe through a wall and killing my neighbors dog.

I'm so awesome.

I use two programs to get rid of my adware...
Ad-aware SE and Spybot Search & Destroy..

We really need a Technology subforum.. =_=

Adaware is fantastic. But it's not perfect. As noted, HJT rocks too, as does CShredder Use a combination of things to combat the problem. Or don't go on the net at all

here's a good spot for more info

Actually, Adaware is not that great. Infact, any other "good" spyware program will scan and tag it as spyware, it also doesn't find everything on your computer. This is not my opinion, but a fact that I've come across, plus countless other people who have used it.

Search and Destroy in my opinion is the best, so if your looking for something good, I suggest getting it.

One thing about those two...
Ad-Aware looks at every file to see if it's infected...

Search & Destroy looks at all the spyware & adware stored in it's database and sees if your computer has it...

Now, they seem pretty much the same..
But meh..
They search it a different way, so different results will be found...

well, depends, if i remember correctly, adware has a 'smart' scanning and complete. Smart just looks for folders/files of common spyware/adware, whereas complete, well its obvious what it does

i wouldnt say spybot is the best infact it takes me like 2-3 scans to get the same freaking piece of spyware offf my computer and i click on fix so no problem their....adware takes stuff on in one scan...but any way im so confident with my army of programs i can take the liberty of scainning once a month and to find 1-3 pieces of spyware so it all good....

Also, not visiting sites that offer questionable content does help

I heard from one of my coworkers that myspace installed spyware on your computer.
