Programmer's lounge
Hai guys.
Now that we have a proper subforum for this, what say we talk about programming. What langauges do you know? What stuff do you program? Etc etc... Also come here if you need help in programming.  Anyways, I know quite a few languages... C, BASIC (Most forms), Actionscript, Basic HTML, Java I guess that's it.. I'll be learning COBOL by next year though.. Most of the stuff I program is for school. I rarely ever do programming out of boredom (Though I really should start)... >_>

I don' really know much. Things I do know where just for school and I kinda already forgot.
HTML stuff was boring and I learned a bit of BASIC last summer. What are some cool languages to learn cuz I got cut out of computer class this year and so I'll be behind next year so I wanna start learning some stuffs

C is always a good language to start learning, seeing as it's the lingua franca of programing.
But if you want to start making visual applications at once, then go with Visual BASIC or Java. Though it may be hard to learn without prior programming experience. Of course, if you'd like to go with animations and/or games, then actionscript would be your best bet.

I'm still learning HTML. Basic was a PITA to try learning... for me anyway ><.
So far, nothing I've done on any forums or webpage has caused it to crash.... yet  .

As for myself, i know C++(C is implied, obviously
), visual basic, java, actionscript, javascript, html(tags actually, not much programming :S), xml(same as html), php, sql, ajax implementation and a little bit of the following: asp, c#, bash,ruby@Pepe, actually, pointers are quite useful , they're basic stuff when you're dealing with applications that handle dynamic creation/edition of variables

Well, his job is related to computers... Specifically the web...
Which is why he knows so much web scripting and such... So what do you think is the key to good programming skills? Logic or practice?

I know a fair amount of most languages, I like Bash, and I hate java

Well I'm enrolled in webdesign, but I've done it for about 2 years now. And I like to program games in my spare time. -_-'
Languages: -HTML -Javascript -PHP -Visual Basic -Python (Don't use it much) -Ruby

PHP SQL C++/# TI-Basic (gotta love your calculator when it can do the homework for you..) Java Though I'm still learning all of them besides TI-Basic
