I'd also check out lifehacker.com and search for mac, they have all sorts of links to useful software, and tutorials and stuff.
Agreed, especially since Safari 3.0 is more issue prone, hopefully the 10.5 updates will fix that. Good calls on the rest!

I thought Thunderbird would connect in a exchange enivroment to calendars

They don't like the idea of someone using their free software without buying Windows, hence the basicness of Messenger and the bulk of Media Player.

Also, give Camino a try as well as Safari before you settle on Firefox. Haven't used it myself due to habit, but it looks interesting. And just use Sunbird for the calendar, cos the built-in Mac mail client's a mile off Thunderbird. Or you could try Seamonkey!
Very good calls again!

hinarei is a name known to all

maybe Thunderbird does connect to calendars... I just don't have an Exchange environment to utilize

It's here!

was fun getting it out of the box (though the box, again, had a huge hole in it... What is it with me and computers? ), and firing up and all... It's a bit daunting right now, but it really does seem to be a lot more straightforward, when you think about it. I reckon it'll take me a while to get everything set up right, but now, I have my Airport and internet access, so I'm happy.

First lot of posts to here from me on a system other than Windows NT5.x

early doors, folks! Go nab gogeta and filch his Apple!

problem. I believe my new Macbook to be perfectly fine and thoroughly usable. Except for two majorly minor niggles.

It looks like it's all UK-ified, yet Shift-2 produces... @ O_o The heck! Along with this niggle, this means that Shift-' produces "... where's the sense in that??

And for the second, very annoying, lappy-trashing pain... ever tried to use IRC without a hash key? #. That's not much to ask, is it? /j #lovehina, /cs access #2kochan list *... # is crucial to running an IRC proggie with any degree of control. Where the hell is it? I've looked for ages all over this keyboard and can't find it. It's probably staring me in the face and mocking me right now, but I cannot see it

And it's not, I repeat not 'pound'
