What is the hardest video game boss ever?

simple enough, what is the hardest video game boss you yourself have ever fought, now I know there was a thread like this before, but it was for RPG bosses only, now I am widening the spectrum to any boss at all, only rule is you have to have beaten him and explain why he breaks your soul so hard.
mine ATM- Orochi at that end of Warriors Orochi on intense difficulty, now I was at max absolute max stats possible when I fought him, and the bastard could still one shot me with even his most simple attacks, and if he can't keep up with you he goes straight for the guy you have to defend who stupidly charged in for you (fyi he one shots that guy too) So now you have 2 people you have to keep alive, one is you, and the other has the brains of a rock that was dropped on it's head when it was little. I felt so damn happy when I finally saw that guy collapse. And after that, I had to return the game to my friend so he could do the same, though I don't know if he did or not.

I don't know. When I played FFX for the first time, Jecht gave me a helluva hard time (so much so that I stopped playing the game for a few months, then went back to beat it after I learned of the optional Aeons). However, the second time I played it, he was kinda easy.

So, I don't know.

Anything Final Fantasy wise is fecking easy. Hardest boss eh? Wouldn't that be anything from the original Megaman? That game was sick.

If I'd had to pick a modern game I'd have to go with Ninja gaiden

As if normal wasn't hard enough to break most pro gamers X3

And then the game has a hard mode, which I'm getting trough at the moment ^^

There's been an "easiest" boss before, but not a "hardest".

Still the demon wall at the temple of the ancients in Final Fantasy VII for me, it was always a pain. Mainly because:

1. Its attacks dealt a serious amount of damage.
2. It had fairly decent defence and alot of health
3. I used to get bored training and I just went along with the game instead of making my characters stronger like I should have been.

well, he's not a boss, but he might as well be. The apprentice from soul calibur 4 makers me play through him like 12-15 times before i finally beat him.

Penance from FFX, no question about it, Yiazmat from FFXII at a close second, not because he's hard, but because it's such a bloody long fight. (50 million HP LOL)

Elizabeth from Persona 3 as here is a list of why

1. She'll instant kill you with her 9999 damage skill if any character is null to an element
2. She'll do the same as above if you bring a party
3. She uses all elements
4. She have 2 turns compared to you having one only
5. She also inflicts all status elements on you including poison to confusion
6. Every of her 15th and 16th turn she will cast the 9999 damage skill
7. If her hp reaches below half (she has 20,000 hp) she will heal all ho in a single turn

Liz is hard if you dont know her pattern. Get all the items required and memorise what she does since she repeats. then just do the nececary fusion spells once in a while, then ARMAGEDDON at low hp = win. She can be EXTREMELY annoying if you dont know what you are doing though.

Anywho ANY boss in God Hand from the second part of the game will kick your ass in a matter of seconds if you aint concentrating at 100%

Well, it's not hardest ever, but K.ROOL from Donkey Kong 64 pissed me off to the point of destroying my nana's HDTV. It's amazing how many times you have to fight this little bastard before he finally "faints". I would've simply took out a peanut gun or something and blast the damn timekeepers. Seriously, K.ROOL took forever to beat and there were no continues. When you died, you went right back to the beginning of the fight, no checkpoints or anything.

A second shot would be Metal Gear Rex from Metal Gear Solid. Now, I've played my share of MGS games and I find MGS to be THE best series out there, but when I finally got the Collectors Edition set for PS2 and played it, the disc 2 swap was faulty. So I got the eboot.pbp from a reliable source and played it with my PSP. Now, this just pisses me off so badly. It's easy to fight the Metal Gear but think of it this way: it's YOU - a human - vs. Metal Gear Rex - controlled first by a COMPUTER DISH then by a FREAKING TWIN OF SNAKE inside a 60FT METAL DEATH BOT THAT SENDS NUKES AND LASERS AT YOU. If you so much as land within the sight cone of the Metal Gear or by Liquid, it's all over, the damn mech fies a machine gun at you as well as 4 miniature nuclear warheads as well as a charged particle beam when you try to go between its legs. Not to mention it simply picks its leg up and slams it down, causing no damage to the ground, but the small crash causes a Bikini Atoll shockwave that kills you. It took me weeks before I finally defeated it for the first time and even then I think it was pure luck. After all, a single shot with the Stinger only cuts away like 1/12 of the total HP and compared to your 2-shot life span, it's a bit unfair. This brings back memories of Metal Gear Awesome where fighting a simple tank was considered unfair, try fighting that tank but only much bigger, heavier, fires nukes and chainrail guns and lasers, walks on two legs, has an electronic location device, and is controlled by your over-caffinated smartmouth British-talking recessive clone twin on steroids.

the hardest games i have played was shin megami tensei: Nocturne on hard and trying to fight lucifer, and darkwatch on hard. also diablo 2 on nightmare mode at a friends house.
