    What daftie thought 2010 was a leap year? Sony's apparently given a big kick to certain 'fat' PS3s over the past two days. A bug in the calendar of these models set Monday as 29/02/2010 which, frankly, doesn't exist. This could cause data to go wonky, as well as preventing access to live online gaming on PlayStation Network. As such an advisory was posted on Sony's PS3 Twitter page and at its various websites.

    Numpties. Not that it bothers me (yet) as I'm not online with my PS3 (yet), but is it really that much bother to notice that your last Leap Year was in 2008 and that another isn't expected for, ooh, two years?

    Has this affected anyone on here?

    We were cautious, but it turned out that our fat PS3 is new enough to have avoided this one.

    then why is there a link on my posts that says "blog this post"" If I shouldn't be able to blog my own posts, why give me the option to? Besides, not everyone who visits my blog may care to look through Gaming, and vice versa

    I'm not affected, thank goodness. Checking, my PS3 seems to think today is the 3rd, which is correct for another two whole minutes

    to be fair, it's only affected those people who use the online service. Offline, it'd have made little difference. There can't be many people using PSn, can there?

    I'm more cut up about the model I've got not being able to play PS2 games, frankly.

    I'm pretty sure it messed up trophies, thus messing up save files, thus messing up offline play too in many cases. Read into it!
