I guess Yonathen has never realized the full implications of sibling incest if incorporated into the LH universe. Somehow the thought hit me in these days, and I did not know if I should have felt awe or simply gr34t ph34r.

honestly, I've thought about this since first reading the series. Soon as I heard about Kaolla having a brother the germ of a thought was there. I imagined her having a sister too, but then they actually shaped an older sis for her in the anime and well, fanfics have filled in the rest where my imagination couldn't Of course, with Sappho being a moon goddess, it didn't take much of a leap

I think if Akamatsu stayed true to his roots, we may have seen a lot more develop with other pairings than Kanako/Keitaro

Siblings are very important to the series. As we went along, a much bigger picture of family networks jumped out of the woodwork. None more so than the Aoyamas. Nothing like ties that bind

nice touch for Shinobu I can't imagine the tricks Ms McDogal has up her sleeves

Hmm well Kaolla did love her brother a bit too much, that might be the first sign of incest in LH

Much more so with the anime than with the manga. The same goes for parents, at least in Shinobu's case, and... I think Naru's, too.

Why did we leave Mutsumi out? We did see her mom in vol.10 which warrants some parent to child incest.

Oh, so the comment doesn't refer to her reaction to the sudden rise in incest love? Now you gave me a bad mental image if you intend to include children younger than Mei into the mix of the incest bandwagon.

If we are playing along those lines then you also forgot Seta and Sara as incest potential. Also, don't forget to add Haruka into the Urashima mix. It is your duty to make sure nobody is left behind!

the thread title might give it away, but siblings are the topic here. Keeping it in the family is all very well, and if we were moving that way I'm sure Haruka would have something to say about being left out of things. Plenty of potential within the Urashima clan. That's not mentioning Hina...

I reckon Natsumi'll find her way into the proceedings at some point Her thoughts would follow those of Mutsumi's, I have no doubt

I think perhaps the first real mention of reading anything other than platonic feelings into a family relationship was with Kaolla and Ranba, as Yon noted. I'd like to think more of Kaolla and Amalla, but that's just me Suu-chan loved her brother very much, but I think we found that Amalla loved him in much the same way, so we could be in for a proper triangle up in the trees

I gave this one more than a second thought before posting, since it figures that mere sibling incest might give bad mental images to a lot of people. Personally I am not an incest fan. Rather, I have a neutral stance towards romantic feelings between siblings, especially if they are consenting adults or rather equal in terms of maturity. The idea of incest alone does not destroy an otherwise beautiful love story for me.

Now if you read my opening post very carefully, you will notice that Mutsumi's use of the word orgy is the only somewhat unambiguous reference to having sex. I wanted to keep it all vague so I could see your reactions -- just how much people would read between the lines when given strong hints.

It is all in your dirty minds, perverts. (Would you really take a single, out-of-the context statement by Mutsumi Otohime as a reliable and objective description of the whole situation?) Keitaro says to Kanako, "Finally." How many long years did it take him to realize the truth?

So, did I intend all that to take place when Sarah is conveniently past sixteen or eighteen? Did I intend all that to take place at all? I am not telling. That is your problem. Have fun!

Ah don't go explaining it, let our imagination do the work (i've only read the first 2 sentences btw, just to be safe =3)

Anyway, i wouldn't say that it's siblings itself that is important in this serie, but rather the bond between the characters and their family and friend (which is just like a family)
But that is usually so in any kind of serie in this genre

Well as for Katajainen, you know my what was my first interpretation of Mutsumi's comment so I dare to day that I blame YOU for the mental image.

No i meant Aegis the old member. He was a member of the Motoko Brigade (he was in charge of the special forces i think) and suddenly challenged all the other brigades to an RP Duel.
