You know, a funny fact, alot of times the characters with Osaka-ben are voiced by either seiyuus without them or if they are from Kansai, they would soften the accent. This all to make it more understandable. Although this has been happening less and less the last couple of years, might that be due to the huge amount of kawaii talk in anime lately.
(kawaii talk is like super exaggerated slang. for example rinrin of Koihime, "Sou Nano Ja")
Suu's seiyuu is from Osaka, but if you look up some interview of her, her Kansai-ben might be a bit thicker in them, or is it just me
Can't find any interviews. You got any links?

Its not always easy to discern accents, with some far more exaggerated than others. I knew Suu's seiyuu was from Osaka but couldn't make it out in the Japanese dub. Quirky voice though, yep. Quirky girl, so I guess it fits![]()
Can't find them -_-' i'm fearing the worst
but did find this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fTUxujHn_N4
Can't tell her natural voice when she's in character though! I did find a few portfolio-style samples on her management's website, but they're characters too. Even if Osaka-ben isn't her normal voice, she puts it on well!

So i take it, that's her forté, so probably her main accent.
However people do say that it's hard to find a Seiyuu who can speak good yet understandable Osaka-Ben. atleast understandable to the average joe there
It get's me quite confused though, as i noticed when i speak Japanese, i tend to mix Keigo with Kanto-ben and a hint of Osaka-ben.
You should've seen the people when i was in Tokyo last spring, they though i was some kind of comedian or something![]()

How is it generally in Japan, do people speak in their respective dialects when interviewed on TV?
Over here, it used to be so that especially schooled people tried to hide their accents and speak standard Finnish in situations like that. (Not so much any more, and also, many differences between dialects have diminished.)
LOL, thanks for sharing!

Ah, Gaki no Tsukai <3
And just cos you know keigo doesn't mean you should have to use it XD I spent ages revising it all when I first got to Japan, but had sooo little reason to use it that I totally forgot it.
