'Hammerspace' is a conjectural pocket universe which contains various weapons, most of them hammers but sometimes swords, frying pans, et cetera.
Whenever a character in manga or anime pulls a weapon out of nowhere, it is said to have come from 'hammerspace'. I don't know who first coined the phrase, though.
Hammerspace is most often accessed by women who have been subjected to an insult either against themselves or women everywhere ... *sob* Guys rarely get access to hammerspace, insofar as I'm aware of.

I know only one male anime character with access to Hammerspace. Check out Haleluya Boy, he can pull you frying pans, metal baseball bat and other metal weapon from the Hammerspace conseal on his back jacket.

hammerspace = out of the blue....
kinda like
pulling out a frying pan out of nowhere or weapons like in vid games.... 1 sec u got nothing then the next u got a sword....=)
