Conversation Between Katajainen and Ammaranth

  1. Um... *cough* I have watched four "Strike Witches" TV anime episodes online. Most of it is bullshit. Fan service more awkward than in Negima, stories clumsily put together of stock clichés. I am not telling you to run if you see a "Strike Witches" DVD, but cannot really recommend spending your time on it either.

That said, I like WW II aircraft, love several "Strike Witches" character designs, and find these maps really fascinating. When I learned that Hinarei had similar feelings, I could not resist doing a joint project with him, creating numerous details for the alternate universe -- stuff we could not find online. Currently I am involved in a related RPing adventure, gamemastered by T0k0l0v3r.

The thread featuring most of the materials and discussions is called "Recruiting an AnimeB Strike Witches Force".

I promise I will check out your Motoko fic. Not setting a deadline, though.
  2. Hom. Well, as I said, world creation is a pet project of mine. I've been spending a good bit of time building the setting of a series of science fiction stories I've been working on -- ironically while also doing readings in Old English to bolster another tale, set in medieval times. Talk about going in two directions at once! In the mean time, if you want to see something that's FINISHED, have a look at "Motoko's Secret" over in the Fan fiction section under Creative Corner. I greatly respect you and your opinions, and would very much like to know what you think.

As for Strike Witches, I keep hearing about it, but haven't got to look at anything for it yet, though I think I'll head on over and peruse what you mentioned. I have this pile of shows I want to watch, and one of these days, sooner than later, I hope, I'm going to sit down and just binge on watching and reading, and probably not sleep for 24 hours, but it will be worth it

  3. Hoom. Sub-creation, as old man Tolkien used to call it, has been my thing since I was at comprehensive school, and one of the main reasons I was so fascinated by board RPGs in the nineties. I was not "inspired" to ask those questions; more like, they are a key part of my personality.

Oh, what inspired me to ask that question aloud, and here? Pretty much Hinarei's influence, and yours. Realizing that at least you two have got what it takes -- with the possible exception of enough spare time. So I wanted to map the situation further.

Have you ever taken a look at our work on the fictional Europe of "Strike Witches"?
  4. Well, its up and working now, which of course you know. Great thread. May I ask what inspired it? It just gave me that impression, that you'd been ruminating on something for a while, not unlink an Ent, perhaps. Hoom . . . hom . . .
  5. The whole board is messed up after the software update. My motivation is low because of that, really. What is life without hypertext? Virtually nothing.
  6. Argh! I tried to reply to your thread, and Mutsumi keeps telling me it doesn't exist. Curse you, turtle girl!
  7. Damn you, Amm. You need to stop ignoring my profile messages and visit the NBB, I can see we could use you.

Thanks for the new Maze of the Dark poll, your wordings made me feel just like in the good old times. Voted, already, subscribing to it now and maybe commenting later. Let some negifags have their word first.
  8. Yo, Amm. A shame to see your profile page is this quiet.

Remembering that you have been interested in Negima bookworms... What do you think about the Tōhō character Patchouli Knowledge?
  9. Ammaranth, you around again?! I remember you as a most respectable LH fan. Hurry up and check out the GHK roll call thread... I would go there myself if I wasn't too dedicated to the Shinobu Brigade.

    Love Hina Forever!
