Eh, I don't really like this game.
Firstly, Raiden is a bitch.
Secondly, Raiden needs to die, he's uncool.
Thirdly, Peace Walker better beat the snot out of Rising, after all, Rising isn't even a timeline-related game... it's just another AC!D, minus the cards.
"I hear that neither you and your men have neither state nor ideology - that you will fight any foe.
An army without a state..."
It's not so much that he was playable, it was because he complained like a child whenever the codec screen came up, refused to take orders from a microwaved Colonel, and he WAS the player, there was no choice of who you could play as. If there was, I would've easily chosen anyone else, even Emma, just so I could attempt to fire Nikitas and Stingers at Raiden for sheer enjoyment.
And to be honest, if you look at that image of "Raiden" you'll see "it" has hazel eyes, where Raiden had blue, and let's not lookover the obvious barcode/skull opening. If it's pre-MGS4 Raiden, he still must die, but if it's a Raiden clone, then we're screwed... Big Boss, do your country proudly and take care of that sorry excuse for a hero!
well it true that Raiden complained but it made the story more interesting i agree with selo also mgs2 was one of my favs and was pretty enjoyable i just wish he couldve gotten the sword a little earlier
I absolutely LOVED MGS3, it's like the perfect game. It is so much like a movie, yet it's so much like a game, I find it to be quite possibly on fighting terms with Ocarina of Time as a quality game of all time.
oh yes i loved mgs3 especially how it was played the whole eating and what not....my most used weapon was a tarantula D:> but so far im going to keep an open mind about rising till it comes out and i see how it is
Yeah, it was a good game, but I myself liked mgs2 better. Anyways, I played mgs3 on a HDTV, bad idea (but thats the only tv i have in the room), it looks mega smudgy, so it was a bit more hard to distinguish stuff, i wish i had a regular tv when i played that game, ha
lol i dont think it tops my gameplay where i played some game on an tv that was like 8in by 8in or maybe even smaller, i played mgs3 with no sound so it pissed me off
... swaying away from Rising a bit.
Rising seems to be another non-timeline game much like Ghost Babel and AC!D, so chances are, it's going to be a letdown since it won't effect the real MGS line of time. Another thing to point out is that apparently you kinda "time travel" around eras, so you end up playing as Big Boss AND Raiden, as well as other characters I'd assume. Rising will probably recieve huge hits on the 360, but not-so on the PS3, mainly because if it's a 360 game as well, that'll mean Live playback as well as DLC, so the chances of 360 sales being more than PS3 is very likely, but still open as far as fansupport goes. People have been begging for a 360 MGS, but instead get a spinoff game. That'll have to do for now....
well, most multiplat games sell better on the 360, so thats nothing new.
PS3 already had MGS anyway, the PS3 owners have more choice in the way of MGS than 360 owners, and yes by the way, that IS Raiden who's playable, trust me, just ignore the eyes, It's Raiden ;P Can't guarantee it's jack tho ;O
"I hear that neither you and your men have neither state nor ideology - that you will fight any foe.
An army without a state..."
^ true, but because PS3 players have MGS4, the sales for Rising might be as good, but then again, it's also on 360, so the changes of more sales on something other than PS3 is very good. I am quite upset that the Playstation consoles have been the focus of the Metal Gear series, minus the two fakies on the NES and that other fakie on the GBC. Then again, it seems to be only fair since Halo and Gears of War are Xbox-exclusives... ahwell, I'm more than 200% likely to get Peace Walker the day it comes out, and less than 50% chance of getting Rising, even if it is on the 360. No use in getting hyped up for a non-timeline release.
two fakies on the NES? it was just one: Metal Gear: Snakes Revenge. The first one was a port of the MSX original. I don't see why halo needs to be brought to discussion( overrated series anyways).
I did read though, that supposedly peace walker is going to be a proper MGS experience, so it should be rather good
Halo and GoW aren't good compensation for a lack of MGS, since they're far more action based games than MGS, use something more similar to MGS for comparison, like splinter cell. XD Also you could argue that the NES MGS was also a faker, it wasn't overseen by hideo, and was butchered as badly as the XBOX substance, and what i think would happen to MGS4 360 is drawn from these ports. IT DIDN'T EVEN HAVE A METAL GEAR!
Yup, though it isn't numbered, Hidechan Radio {Hideo Kojima's JP podcast ;P} says that he wants it to inherit the spirit of 5, so it'll still have all the hallmarks of a full MGS, like 3, of course we'll know for sure if it does inherit the spirit by it's sasaki content XD
And don't go writing Rising off just yet, it has a chance, though honestly i think any 360 owner should pay more attention to the kojipro castlevania collab.
"I hear that neither you and your men have neither state nor ideology - that you will fight any foe.
An army without a state..."
Meh, not interested in castlevania. Im not writing off Rising, but I do hope it'll be mgs'ish instead of devil may cry/god of war'ish, if its like the latter, i'll probably won't get it
-sigh- I'm done, people have done nothing so far but completely lookover anything I'm trying to point out.
In any case, Peace Walker IS a timeline game, which adds to why I'll get it, and because it'll revive my UMD collection of 8 games ><
Lol, but your free PS3 online time sucks major ass X'D
Just kidding, I'm not going to bring the battle of consoles up yet again, it's overrated.
I would like to ponder on whether or not Rising will have some kind of connection, if any, with PSP's Peace Walker like AC!D did with MGS3 :/ I'd like that to happen again.
