Well, today it's official. I've not been collecting manga for a year. I got my first two volumes of Battle Royale on this day last year (25th of March).

So, it's time for a mega-list! Starting with a list of all that I own.

A.I. Love You-1-3

Romantic comedy series about a guy who spends his days programming A.I. software...mostly digital girls as he's a lonely geek (so I can already relate to him). One day, as he's working on his favourite program (Number 30) lightning strikes and the program comes to life! It's silly, but fun. A little repetetive and it bears striking similarities to Ah! My Goddess, but it's fun in small doses.

Apocalypse Meow-1-3 (complete!)

Imagine the Vietnam War was fough by Rabbits and Cats (the US and Vietnamese forces respectively) and you get this. It seems silly, but it's actually a pretty serious affair with great attention to detail. It's an average read to start, but by the end you really get to care for the main characters and genuinely want them to be safe.

Azumanga Daioh-1-4 (complete)

This is very different to most manga, it's comprised of almost Peanuts like 4 panel strips. The plot (if indeed one actually exists) revolves around a group of girls making their way through high school in Japan. There's no big story arcs, but it keeps you entertained and it's VERY funny stuff. It will put a smile on anyones face, I highly recomend this, it's my second favourite manga (keep reading to find the first) and it's really uplifting. I cried at the end. Seriously.

Battle Royale-1-15 (complete!)

Ah, the first manga I ever got. I was about to queue up to see Pitchshifter and decided to buy the first two volumes to read while in the queue (I was going through a huge BR phase at the time). I still love it, it's got a good story, good dialouge, FANTASTIC art, but the problem is it tries way too hard to be extreme and sometimes that has a negetive effect. I was almost crying when one character died but the emotional impact was ruined by a poorly placed panty shot. Still, very good series for those with strong stomaches.

Battle Vixens-1-2

This has more fanservice per page than any other manga I've read (and I've read both Love Hina and Negima!). It's an alright series, but it's not kept my attension enough for me to continue buying it. I'll buy more when I've finished a few more series first.

Bleach-1-17 (up to date)

I was a huge fan of the anime until it went abit crap with the bound arc, but that's because that wasn't in the manga. The manga is superb stuff, just as addictive as the anime with none of the filler. I love it, it has all the charm of the anime with the same style, great action sequences and humor. Top notch, highly recomended!

Death Note-1-10 (up to date)

Imagine that you found a notebook one day, and the person whose name you write in the notebook dies. That's exactly what happens to the protagonist of this superb cat and mouse thriller. One person is using the notebook to create what he thinks is the perfect world, another is trying to track him down as criminals or not and good intentions aside, what he's doing is murder. Gripping, edge of your seat stuff.

Dragon Ball-1-14

You've probably seen the anime, but you've never seen Dragon Ball like this. It's very close to the anime, but the anime (certainly the English version) leaves out much of the humor that makes this such a great read. If you like Dragon Ball/Z, then this is a must read. If not, check it out anyway, you might be suprised.

Full Metal Panic-1-6

I absolutely loved the anime, and I won't lie. I was initially dissapointed by this. The first volume does little to set the scene but it quickly improves and by the second volume we have a serious storyline emerge. Overall this isn't as good as the anime, but it's still a good read if you're a fan, but it does focus too much on the comedy, making the action seem too forced at times.

Love Hina-1-14 (complete!)

Another one of my favourite series here. It's about a guy who through a series of misunderstandings becomes the manager of an all girls dorm. It's a great romantic comedy that is pretty touching at times...in more ways than one. There is quite alot of fanservice in this, but not once does it ever get in the way of the story, in fact the fanservice at times drives the story along! Highly recomended.

Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind-1-7 (complete!)

This is just...wow. Absolutely epic. It's got the scope of Lord of the Rings, however I actually like the main character. In fact, she's probably my favourite character in anything ever. If you like the movie, or any movie by Hayao Miyazaki then you should really read this.

Negima-1-7

From the same guy that created Love Hina, comes this tale of a 10 year old wizard from Wales who becomes an English teacher at a Japanese all girls school. Forget how stupid that sounds, this is superbly written, fantastically drawn and the adaptation is probably the best of any manga I've ever read. It's got less romance than Love Hina, more action, and a lot more fanservice (well, more that doesn't contribute to the story anyway, it's one weak point).

School Rumble-1-4

MY FAVOURITE MANGA EVER! It's also my favourite anime too. It's a little bit like Azumanga Daioh in it's humour, but I personally think it's alot funnier. It's about the lives and loves of a group of high school kids. Tenma is a slow witted yet charming dolt, and she has fallen in love with Karasuma, a complete weirdo whos eccentricities will leave you rolling on the floor. Harima Kenji is a badass rebel, who is trying to reform after falling head over heels for the aforementioned Tenma who has no idea of his true feelings. What follows is the most over the top yet down to Earth comedy ever to grace the pages of manga. As the tagline for the series says...subtlety is for wimps!

Ultimate Muscle-1-3

I'm not a wrestling fan, in fact I hate it. But I love this manga about superhero wrestlers from another planet who've come to save us from a rival (and evil) wrestling federation called the dMp. This is absurd comedy with some good action scenes set inside the 4 corners of the wrestling ring. Good read!

So, 365 days on I have 109 volumes averaging at just over two volumes a week. The retail price of all of this amounts to $1,003.11 American, and £671.82 in England (which is about $1,200 US). My collection so far has aproximately 19,882 pages.
