*cough* The unconfirmed occasion was in a building that houses a Chinese restaurant...

I have seen plenty of those little bastards abroad though. Once in Moscow, I overnighted in a hotel where German cockroaches were so plentiful they walked here and there on the walls even when all lights were on.

Man, i was playing poker with my colleagues last night, saw a mouse run by, freaked out (they are cute but i still am quite scared of them) and actually tightened my guard. Was losing before but afterwards i've won 30 bucks

I read something about cockroaches probably being waaay more hygienic than the chef touching your food anyway, but I still don't like them too much (although they also eat other pestilence causing way greater damage than themselves, so they're actually quite handy). Not much of a problem in Norway, though, but I've been at some hotels abroad where turning on the lights will set off a loud tapping noise as all the roaches scatter for a safe hiding place. Never seen any light-daring ones like Kataja's.

And I still think the quality of the food ranges above the hygiene, I'll never return to a place with foul-tasting but very clean food.

I would never return to a place which serves my salad with an uninvited "guest" tbh
Quality is important, but (besides fastfood) is I am able to cook it myself about just as good at home, i would not return there

I'd say almost all of those are important, but if I could only have one it'd be quality fewd

Quality and other...portion size, id much rather go to a old fashioned restaurant where I can get a huge sandwich for like...$8-$10 rather than go to a fancy restaurant and have 10 thin slices of beef for $80 because people felt the need to have cows drunk before you chop their heads off..

You need to go to Family restaurants or the Mac next door

Yep. Their patties are like 60% meat. The rest are all filler like breadcrumbs

Food is always most important for me, probably followed by ambiance, then service.
