    That depends really, if a cover gives out the wrong impression the whole book is ruined. Its not about making it pretty, but more like making it appealing to the story and connecting it in a way .

    Agreed, but a lot of the time people are misled or judged a book wrongly by its cover, thats why its important to make the cover stay true to the content.

    True, a cover that doesn't mislead you but catches your eye regardless

    So in genreal tough i Don't JUDGE the book by it's cover but there are other things it can accheive

    For me the cover is important because it's what usually attracts someone's attention. It doesn't go beyond that though, i won't buy or comment a book positively just because the cover has some nice pictures. Overall, the cover is important for a first impression, but after that i'd stick to the actual content.
    One day, God loomed over His Earth and proclaimed, for the whole world to hear: "Let there be a single, faultless speck of light on this plane; One which will happily glint undisturbed forevermore...", and as His strained voice echoed throughout the entire Universe, He uttered just one last sentence, decisive and final:
    "Let there be NODOKA!"
