I will now ASK that all references to the Zombie RP be dropped and that we focus on guidelines rather then other members.

AND the guidelines will be finished at a later date, so give us time.

    Uh-huh. Right.

As Bal states. The guidelines will be up. You know, it is kinda hard trying to gut a perfectly good guideline. The same kind I've used since I was a Godmodding n00blet in 2004-2005. But there is some language in there that will or may offend people due to some...personality traits. If I haven't seen such personality traits, or maybe my view on members here weren't so dim, I'd had asked Bal to just link the guide to a thread and be done with it.

    Edit:

Besides, I'd rather adopt this rather comprehensive, yet general guideline, than impose some rule or set of guidelines that favour to a few.

before i do or say anything else,

    DID ANYONE READ MY POSTS?!!?!

    There, i feel better.

Why dont you put up a summary of the guidlines, and we could all equally work from there.

We could even form a sub committee for each specific part or areas.

Hey Tomoya, ya think you could tell me exactly where the guidlines are currently, or do you think it would be easier if you just grapped them. Im thinking of making an actual thread now commited to mkaing a guideline. THat way, any one who wants to continue making flamming remarks, doesnt spam the actual planning area.

And is my system of chapters a good way of shifting storylines? (LH RP chapter system)

Anyways, wether or not there are problems with the zombir rp, im going to keep playing for now. I might decide to sacrifice my character at some point (no spoiler here ). But i do my best to finish an rp even if some of the people or the way there running things annoys me a little. I only leave if i cant stand it period.

I'm pretty sure your Moderator has enough experience to do this on his own, after all I made him

Not only that, Sakurazaki and Okazaki are helping...I'm sure no other help is necessary.

I'm not really sure if I can show you the guide. Besides, Josun can find it himself if he remembered to read back.

My original guide was insulting? I had no idea that you felt that way, Jusu.

    ¬.¬

But it managed what I set out for it to manage, didn't it? It's 'insulting' nature gets right to the heart of the matter, and forces people to take a look at how they play, as opposed to the play style of others. I've had several heart-warming and kind posts come from people who read my guide, and got better from it.

My opinion on a general set of guidelines for a place like AnimeB is pretty concrete in that I doubt anyone will ever agree on what should and shouldn't happen.

People are too focused on realism versus the unrealistic. No role-play, at any point, is realistic. But that doesn't mean that some degree of realism should not apply to any one particular role-play.

From the view point of an experienced (not better, just experienced) role-player, you're all as full of shit as a Christmas turkey. You all seem to have forgotten the core reason that anyone role-plays at all. It isn't to be the controlling OP. It isn't to ruin the someone elses RP experience.

    One word folks.

    Fun.

Do you all remember that word? Fun is that thing you're supposed to have when creating, and playing in a role-play. When it degenerates into fighting, that sense of 'fun' often flies right out the window.

I'm not saying that fun should be the only focus, but when people stop having fun, you have problems.

I actually took the time to read over every post, and will say this.

The general guidelines of roleplaying should read something like this.

    1) The OP of a thread has full power and discretion to decide what is and is not allowed in their role-play. The OP's word is law, and they are responsible for the mediation between players. In the case that a compromise cannot be worked out, the OP has the right to pass down a judgment, and all players are expected to abide by this judgment, no arguments. Those unable to accept this should not apply to become a member of a role-play a particular OP whose general rules and judgments they have disliked in the past.

    2) All powers, abilities, weaponry, and in the case of modern role-play, vehicles, need to be approved by the OP to make certain they fit in with the general storyline and setting which the OP wants their role-play to conform to.

    3) Reality has very little place in most types of role-play. Realism is completely subjective to the particular setting being used by the OP, and as such, needs to be outlined by the OP before a role-play is started. All conflicts about realism and it's level should be resolved quietly, in private, with whatever parties involved, and the OP, on some type of messenger service, so as to not disrupt the role-play.

    4) Post type is not as important as quality. Quantity is not as important as quality. Posts should not need to be a certain length, but instead, should contain a certain quality of play, and, good grammar and spelling. With browsers such as Firefox, which automatically run a spell-check program as you type, there is no longer an excuse for poor typing and excessively bad grammar in a post.

    5) If you find that you are unable to have a situation mediated by the OP, and the relations with other players have grown hostile, step back from the role-play, take a few hours, or even a few days to cool down, and then step up again, and try to come to an agreeable compromise. If you find that this is unable to be accomplished, it may be necessary for you to leave the role-play. The ability to walk away from a role-play is very important for a player, as it shows a level of maturity above and beyond what most other players expect. Sometimes, what you do, can mean more than what you say.

    6) Steer clear of using terms like 'marionetting', 'munching', and 'twinking'. These terms are looked upon unfavorably, and ultimately, they don't prove anything except you know how to spit out terms. Remember that everyone has used methods that these terms describe at least once, and that terms are entirely situational, depending on the role-play. For example, seeing into the future might be perfectly allowable in one role-play, but not into the other. That doesn't mean that person is pulling what's called by some as a 'Ms. Cleo'. It just means that person's power encompasses something usually given an unfavorable term. The OP is responsible for determining what is, and isn't allowed. This should all be covered in the terms and guidelines of each individual role-play.

    7) Maintain a level of respect for your fellow players, as players, and remember that the game is about fun. Winning an argument is not quite as important as the story you write with your fellow players. After all, a role-play is a story that many people write.

I do however, thank you dearly for the list of guidlines. I will do my best to follwo them to the best of my ability.

Now, Motion to close this poll down.
