Netherlands is a better bet than Japan/China, gori! Unless you're thinking of Premiere League teams instead?

Cricket is a real sport. Quintessentially English, which is why teams break for teaduring a game Also why we're nowhere near as good at it as all the other countries we've ruled over

well... I just seen how much points you have...

make it 2 500 000 points. that way you lose about half. And it's more equal seeing as I'd have to change if I lose. Ashes start in a week and a half or so so this should be good!

Prepare to be beaten by the CONVICTS as we've been called by you poms on tv... *laughs*

how long does the ashes go?

you've called this and don't even know how long it lasts??

Ashes series are usually played over five Tests. So... five days, times five matches... 8th July to 20th September, thereabouts Could know the winner well before that time though

    Just tugging your strings!~

I know they are five day tests! It depends on how well they play as to how long before we find out. You okay with the terms Hina?

If your pick wins, do you win my 2.5m points or do I just lose 'em in the ether?

...and yes, I assumed you knew. My short explanation was for the benefit of Americans who've never heard of cricket

I get your 2.5m points. Though you seem to have lost some since I last looked. But remember you have a chance of winning. Our team is rather pathetic at the moment. So if you win I'll have to name change. Start thinking of something Hina. Start thinking.

lost some in another bet with Yon, din't I? Wimbledon champs win 850k, so we bet that on the outcome of the women's final. The gals didn't do too well for me and I lost all them points Better luck next time, Venus...

if the Aussies are pathetic, our lot must really be bad We'll see how things go. Down with the Baggy Green!

England 336-7 end of day one. Not too shabby, in all respects

Mate we're missing all the people who win us stuff!!! No Lee. No Warne. No McGrath. (i suspect I got a spelling mistake somewhere there). and This test Is likely to be one of the last ones we'll have Ponting... I don't like the looks of this.

    Hmm current scores are...

Mate! England 336/7 (90.0 ov) You won the toss and are batting! And we've only gotten 7 of you in 90 overs... I'm actually worried about this test. I suspect we won't win this one. Fortunately there are some others.

there's apparently not too much pace in the pitch at Cardiff, so we were promised a slow show by your pace bowlers. I believe the English have included two spinners in their attack in a home match for the first time in over 15 years

calling a game in Cardiff a 'home' match sounds strange to me, but then, we are governed by the England & Wales Cricket Board...

Lee'll be back for the last Tests, but both sides are horribly lacking in Ashes experience. At least our lot have Test experience, while a number of your lot are genuinely new to the Test picture.

well... I thought we were going to suck. And then I saw the latest scores...

    England 435

    Australia 249/1 (71.0 ov)

and seeing as ponting and katich are both 100+ we may have a chance for this particular test
