Well, I cant say I follow hockey, but back when I liked the wayne gretzki's n64 game (the first one), I liked choosing philadelphia, ha. Are they in the playoffs?

Flyers play Penguins, but are currently 2-0 down in the series, just like Ding's beloved Habs

the teams I follow most closely, Colorado Avs and the Coyotes, aren't in the playoffs, so interest isn't sky-high for me. That and no channel that I currently receive carries the NHL... Living in the UK does suck sometimes. Even if I got NASN there's only sporadic hockey coverage and probably at 4am too..

The Red Wings are doing good their first two games they won, last game ended in a shut out. I'm not really that big of a hockey fan, in fact you know that guy that's constantly asking questions when something happens? That's me. I have been getting more and more interested in the sport though I don't really follow what's going on with other teams or individuals for that matter. I live in Michigan so the team to root for here are the Red Wings and from what I understand they're pretty good.

they're arguably the most successful team over the last fifteen years, YG. Won the thing four times in that period.

I say fifteen cos that's as long as I've been properly interested Tough to be a fan in a different country where they don't take it seriously, though

Boston and Vancouver are within touching distance of the semis by now... Poor ol' Canadiens ><

Yeah Habs lost again last night, it's pretty much over, no way we'll win 4 straight games against Boston.. ah well, better luck next year

Well the habs are already out of the playoffs, time to start the other fun season in Montreal, bars opening their terrace now that it's warm enough

In the east, Boston will probably pull it off, in the west, there's 3 big team to fight their way to the final, Detroit, San Jose and Vancouver. I root for Vancouver since they never won the Cup and it's one of the rare canadian team.

Well the last Red Wings v Blue Jackets game just ended. The Red Wings won! This means they've swept through their first round, kept the Blue Jackets from winning a single game. The perfect 4-0!

It was pretty good too - how the Red Wings won: There was only a minute and a half left on the clock tied at 5-5 and then it happened! The Blue Jackets were switching out players Blue Jacket 1 (not the actual numbers) was going to get off the ice, still was on the ice meaning he was still in play. And Blue Jacket 2 was pretty quick hopping onto the ice. Technically No.2 wasn't in play yet and the refs even said that they would've let it go. EXCEPT No.2 purposely touched the puck officially putting him into play while No.1 was still on the ice!

Meaning the Blue Jackets had too many players on the ice so the refs had to call it. Of course one of the Blue Jackets got into a pretty heated argument over it, wasn't so much that he disagreed with the call but it meant that they'd be fined a player at such an important time and they were playing the RED WINGS, the team with the greatest Power Play record in the entire NHL, not good (for the Blue Jackets anyway). Also the Red Wings are known for being able to kill a Power Play...has nothing to do with the story but I just felt like including that.

Anywho, the Red Wings were able to score a final goal and held off the Blue Jackets for the remaining forty seconds.

Vancouver have won the Conference before, but never the Cup. About time, then, I reckon

More bars for Ding! Sorry about the Canadiens, matey, they just didn't gain the foothod in the series they needed. Didn't get a chance, really

Sounds a thrilling end to the final game in the series Honestly though, a straight sweep of the first round is nothing new to the Red Wings. Back in 2003, they were on the receiving end of a shocker by the Anaheim Ducks

I'm still new to the game so I'm not how sure sweeps happen just got started this year. Still can't help but feel that this is a good sign for the Red Wings.

And thanks for sharing that little piece of info hinarei...gee...the Red Wings were swept by a Disney team...that's...real special ¬¬ *grumbles*

bear in mind they've been easily the most consistent Western team over the past ten years, matey. A blip then hasn't hurt 'em much

Montreal only barely scraped into the playoffs this year, so I'm not highly surprised they got tonked by Boston.

Of the remaining teams, it's tough to see anyone other than Boston winning the Eastern finals, and for the West, most likely Detroit (again). But that's what I love about team sports. I'm almost always wrong

Well the final started tonight between Detroit and Pittsburgh and the Wings won the first match. I'd love to see The Pens win, hope they pull it off!

I'd like to see the Pens win it again. Been ages, and would show they can win it without Super Mario But I predicted Wings and am going to be very surprised if they don't end up winning it.

bloody hellfire o_O After Game 5, I really couldn't see the Pens coming back into it... Detroit marmelized Pittsburgh in that one.

Well done. They can win it without Lemieux and Jagr after all
