In Football (the real kind, where you actually kick the ball most of the time):
I've seen quite a few of FC Lyn Oslo's home (and some away) matches.
A couple of Sandefjord Fotball's home matches.

    I've also seen
Liverpool at Anfield on 3 premier league occasions (vs. Norwich, Manchester United and Aston Villa)
Athletico Madrid against some russian team during the UEFA cup
    AC Siena against AC Milan.

Not seen too many other live sport events, here are those I remember:
Ice hockey: New York Rangers vs. New Jersey Devils in Madison Square Garden.
Baseball: Hiroshima Carp vs. Yokohama BayStars in Hiroshima.
Baseball: NY Yankees vs. Boston Red Sox at Yankee Stadium.
    ...and a hopeful new year!

Wow you guys all see major events, i am happy at national level sports...

I have attended a couple of Aussie rules matches in the past.
But my main sport to see is the A-League soccer, next year i may be looking into purchasing a season pass.

depending on sell out or not i might have an option of attending one of the Asian cup games

We like long stories! Share, share!

Nascar bores the hell out of me. It's Formula 1 without corners. They drive 300 laps in a race >_<

pittance, if anything at all. You should only pay to watch proper, European/South American footie

is what I say I have enjoyed it at various points over the years, because things moving that fast does hold some fascination for me, and I'll still check results to see who's won and who hasn't, but it's not something I can see myself following avidly in its current form. I don't see the point of buying tickets to go and see a race at Silverstone, for example...

you are not a good sport!
supporting your local is what it's about, just because it is not the biggest game in the world at the moment doesn't mean that there is no excitement.

    Today's locals are tomorrows stars!
and a season ticket is about 117 GBP (AU$192) standard and 160 GBP (AU$264) gold membership, which is for 10 matches at home!

Been wanting to for a while. Was mooted to move to Donington, I believe. It's because no-one else can see the point of buying tickets, just like I said. You get a much better view on telly, and easier access to beer and things as needed

balls to that I am a good sport! Just the Aussies don't understand ball games until you've partially deformed the ball they play with.

see, now that is a relative pittance. The cheapest adult season ticket for the Hammers is £570, and at £35 per time for a match against the likes of Wigan, you won't even get much change out of £160 viewing two matches. And that's with West Ham, we're top tier, but hardly top drawer

Yes indeed! Timmy Cahill partially deforms the ball every time it hits his head!

It is quite a bit of money when you think about it, sure you spend 3 times as much but even at 12 gbp a game, money is not easy to come by, i mean it is like 2 hours at work after tax, instead of your 6 hours but still painful....

damn aussie keyboards not having GBP button!

copypaste, Ras, copypaste that lrn 2 charmap.

I'm not saying £160 is a small sum, but relative to following football over here... well, I would have said you get what you pay for, but then we are talking West Ham

you have become so, over the past few years. We tend to have a good record of failing to beat teams from that way in Cup competitions over the last few years, but our record at Anfield is far worse than our record at Goodison :/

Aussie rules footy is a little more expensive, and will start soon, funny enough Adelaide is already fully booked for season tickets and a 1-2 year waiting list applies, but still thousands of spots for on the day prices, which are not set yet..

standard season pass of 11 home games is about your £160 and gold reserved seating is additional £60 or additional £160 for the ultra premium seating, so going gold could cost up to £320....

For some reason i still preferr going to soccer over aussie rules, but yeah still cheaper than your game entry.

Can't pick a 'big 4' team as your bogey side, though. It doesn't work that way!

Next year you can, since Liverpool will be in the Europa League (possibly) and in mountains of debt (definitely).
