    Super Bowl XLIV

    Has anyone seen it?

If so, which team did you go for?

What was your score prediction between the New Orleans Saints and the Indianapolis Colts?

I saw it and went for the Saints. Why? Because I live [well used to] in New Orleans. I don't think going for the Colts here is a good idea just because you would probably get jumped. Lol. I'm not a huge football person, but it was really cool because it was the first time the Saints have ever been to the Super Bowl. They've been losing a crap load of games for decades. I was really ecstatic when I've heard they were going to the super bowl.

Anyways. I went for the Saints. Didn't really think the score was going to be that close. I knew both were good, so haha.

I don't really think the SuperBowl is anything worth crowing about, I didn't watch it, and can't figure out why anyone would, apart from the half-time music shows a maximum of 21 games does not a season of professional sport make

I saw it, I was for the Saints too I figured the score would be even closer, both teams were so good. Once the Saints got their momentum though they were unstoppable. I didn't feel bad for the Colts, I kinda like 'em but Peyton Manning's already got a Superbowl ring, he doesn't need another one.

I know what you mean, it's my biggest complaint with the NFL. The least they could do is make sure every team plays every other one at least ONCE.

Well, that's true. They do need to let everyone play each other. But there are different seasons; like basketball season, and baseball. So I don't think they can fit them all in at the same time. They may have players playing in both basketball and football, or whatever else.

The one thing I really loved about it though was the commercials. They were hilarious. Lol.

Im not a big fan of north american handegg. I don't see why people care for the superbowl when they don't care for the regular season or teams involved, but since its the superbowl, they have to watch it. Ridiculous

People watch Wimbledon and never any other tennis, or indeed the World Cup and never any other football (or rugby, as the case may be).

Call me dim if you like, but that sounds absurd. The same players can't play in more than one professional sport in the same calendar year, surely? There's far too much scope for injury and exhaustion, I'd have thought. There's plenty of venues, baseball fields don't work as for gridiron games, and while basketball arenas and hockey rinks do translate (there's sometimes scheduling conflicts here, that much I know), that can't be right :/

It can't be for television, because I'd have thought that to space events out (and add more) would only generate more advertising and therefore revenue for all companies and sponsors involved...

    Odd.

This can be true, and those people are the "prawn sammich" troop If I catch a sport, I try and catch more than one form if it's ever likely to be shown. I watch Super League, the Tri Nations, Six Nations, the usual autumn RU international games and the World Cup, but I do know what you're on about. I have trouble catching the US and Oz Open tennis but there's no excuse for missing Roland Garros or the Masters.

Cricket, now there's an exhausting sport (OK, maybe not, let's say long-winded). Single games go on for five days

So what's the handegg enthusiasts have to say about things? I don't want to yak on about it's failings all by myself

Exploding Chocolate's off on this one I think. I'm not extremely handegg knowledgeable myself, but I'm pretty sure there is no one in US sports who plays more than one at a professional level.
