Thread: Halp

I don't know what the hell happened but every damn command that I put in the Command Prompt can't function. I've tried alot of commands and they end up saying the same thing.

This is what happened when I used "ping":

'ping' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

Now, I'm ****ed up. Any methods on how to make it work again?

Google is your friend! You wont get the best solution for that in Anime forum. But... are you sure it doesn't recognize any command? not even Dir? cd.. ? it might be a virus, cuz, virus might like to disable commands that are useful at finding them. Download some good free antivirus like Spybot search and destroy and make sure you have firewall on. Oh and do a barrel roll >:l DO EET

What're you using it for?

check your PATH variable, would be a good bet

try typing set at a command prompt, and see if that returns what's in your PATH variable

PATH should be set to something like "%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\system32" (without the quotes).

if set doesn't return a result (or you get the 'not recognized' error, go to Control Panel>System>Advanced tab, and click Environment Variables. Under System Variables you should see PATH listed. Copy what you see in the Value and post it in here
