Intel working on a whopping new chip

    http://www.intel.com/pressroom/archi...p_sm.htm#story

Intel haven't released this yet, but I've been wondering for a while how they were going to move the technology on, and they've just crammed more cores in to a standard bit of silicon Good stuff this. Could run the company twice over on one box with one of these chips

well, the price will be steep, but to go one processor that powerful in a single server will save money and be much more economical in the long run for many companies

I know of a bloke who's running a high-end multicore virtual cluster and just using it for playing Red Alert. Think how much quicker that'd be on 48 cores
