Well, i havent used this thing properly, since i dont have it in any of my machines, but I've read and heard people complain a lot about it, and then there was that article on pc magazine that also said vista pretty much sucked.

So, what do you all vista users think of it? (assuming you know a little about what goes on in the background and etc. not just "it looks pretty"

its fine for people who use their computer for browsing, chatting, etc.
but if you care about anytihng obove basic computer use it sucks, because it uses a lot of precious ram, has multiple compatibility issues, and you comp needs to be about as twice as good for it to run as fast as xp

it's not gone down as well a Microsoft had hoped, I know that much. At work we tried setting it up on a couple test machines and haven't even got a mechanism for the install yet oO

lolLinux, vista is great on paper but was executed terribly. Shame that pretty much all retailers now here sell their comps with vista. Meh the smart people get em custom made with XP anywho. but tbh in a couple of years vista will eventually pick up i hope cause its not actually a bad idea, its bad realisation.

i got home basic "FREE" because i thought it was going to run flawless on a gig of ram since the min is 512mb. well i was wrong it ran kinda laggy, i couldnt play any game my cpu was being used up at 100% and when you use windows media playeer 11 you cant even play music while that studin DRM thing eating up your cpu. and i also had problem with DWMlucky for me i didnt buy it

You obviously don't know much, setting up ubuntu is a breeze, pclinux as well!. They practically use the patented microsoft method of "next, next next done"!! Also, th ere are the live cds
i mean it was easy to install and ran on live cd i installed but after when everything was finished i tryed to but and its said boot something kernal and never moved i tried to get on like 100 times nothing happened so i uninstalled.
