Who's still active - what are you up to nowadays?

I still check in every now and then, lately a bit more often than usual, and still see people posting in the suubox. The much debated suubox I might add

Would be fun to see who's still here and what you're up to now.

I'm married, have a 1-year old son. Finished university this spring and currently looking for a job. Volunteering in a church in Denmark.

    you?

Try to check daily, which usually works due to work.
Speaking off, these days I work for a major network provider that provides infrastructure for a 100+ ISPs

In simplest terms I either did shifts where I accept tickets from said ISPs to fix problems or I was on call for field engineers to assist them with additional data, cable sketches, giving them new DSL or telephone ports etc.
But fairly recently I joined a small team where we see which tickets are send in and try to find a common factor.

Say some asshole starts digging without waiting on the technical drawings of where the cables are and, because they don't have insurance, don't phone the incident in. Well then you see an increase of tickets in one region, usually postal code, where the lines measure roughly the same distance. So we get to cancel all the individual engineers and immediately send a task to the under ground teams for repair. With the highest priority.

Or a main- or subdistribution frame goes down and again, we cancel all individual engineers and send a task directly to Nokia with the highest priority.

Because we're so new there are lots of interfaces to still set up, lots of points of improvement in workflow and processes, but it's quite fun. Plus we're really helping people, which is why I originally started at the ISP side years ago.

Other than that, I also started practicing iaido, already got my first kyuu grade and first dan grade. In theory I can go for my second dan grade at the Ishido Cup in January!

I remain as enigmatic about my offline life as I used to be.

If I gaze out of the window, I see trees different from those I mentioned in my AnimeB diary almost exactly a decade ago.

Sadly enough, I read a lot less books and comics nowadays than back then. The emphasis has shifted towards western webcomics; I am following three or four more or less regularly.

I have more chances for certain outdoor activities that have been important to me for over a decade.

I still feel as ancient – and in many ways, as young – as when I first encountered Love Hina.

A significant portion of my offline friends are people I have originally met on discussion forums. Some of them call me senpai. I keep meeting new people online, in different contexts.

I check AnimeB a few times per year. It is always a delight to see this community still exists.

Jag verkar kunna tala finlandssvenska på något sätt när det behövs (sällan). Så skulle det knappast vara utan Wålf, Sille och resten av Kalmarunionen på AnimeB.

I got married this year, I'm a nursing assistant in LTC and on a surgical floor... and basically doing my hobbies as I always have, haha. And being a terrible procrastinator... HMM.

To be fair, the Suubox was much debated because it drew discussion away from the forums themselves. By that point, we may as well have been an IRC community. Eventually we'd have upgraded to Discord. Probably.

I'm me. I haven't changed in 13 years, bar becoming pretty horribly depressed with a wide variety of health issues. I'm trying to work on the depression by doing some streaming from time to time. It's nice that I get watchers. Not many, but it's something. If anything, I'm far less energetic (makes sense with the depression), and quite paranoid and suspicious about people and their motives. A far cry from who I used to be.

I still watch anime and play video games, but otaku tend to piss me off. Especially with the fake cutesy bullshit, the occasional japanese word fit in to a sentence as if it works, and a variety of other things that just make me want to punch someone.

I'm 31, I'm lonely, my life has gone nowhere, and uh... yeah. Come at me.

Didn't we have a channel on Rizon.net? I think the last to leave over there before me was Momo. Had been just 2 or 3 for months already back then.

Glad your alive Tyro, you stream occasionally? What's your channel (via Twitch?)
I stream, normally on Wednesdays, myself and I can always drop in or a host.

As for anime, the only thing is that I feel out of the loop. I don't really know which series are airing and even after checking I feel a "another Isekai anime" or "Oh just like [earlier series]" mood coming up and I promptly forget. Of course I still do the games, I stream after all

I currently watch a few things, have a decent number of anime I've watched this year, and access to a small roleplaying community I've been with for yeeeears that also watch and discuss anime. I intend to make more threads once I get my shit in order.

As for streaming, my channel is... Tyroki. No really. In all these years, I've maintained the same name. I'm still trying to find a schedule I like, and right now, the middle finger on my left hand is smashed making it tough to play. I'm currently on a hiatus because of it.

I am currently 29, got married, have 2 children, running my own business, doing quite well. I still live in the Netherlands, but moved to a more childfriendly town in Zeeland.

I try to stay fit, but had to trade in my muscles for a belly
Running a foodjoint does that to ya

Still living in Georgia, started cooking for awhile and was considering pursing a career as a Chef.

Was about to take position as Sous Chef at a local campus, but decided against it. I've been sought after in quite a few restaurants locally, and even out of state, but reconsidered my career choices.

Started going back to school this fall to focus on Computers and IT.

Sounds like you should make some threads. I'm close to being tapped out, short of going to really old anime...
Been too busy gaming recently to start a new series.
