    Yosuga no Sora

    ..or "I'm doin' a Shira!"

Yosuga no Sora ("Sky of Connection") is a VN, so I'm sure Miroku would have seen this at some point. The game was originally released for Windows in December 2008, so Wiki tells me. It has since been adapted into an anime series, and this is where we are today

I have been following this anime since Strike Witches finished, and must say I'm impressed. This show is such a tease

Tragically orphaned by an automobile accident, the Kasugano twins travel to their grandparents' countryside residence via railcar, hoping to reconstruct the shards of a shattered life. With an uncertain future, Haruka Kasugano clings to memories of the past, hoping to find the strength he needs to protect his ailing sister. With a destiny irrevocably tied to that of another, Sora Kasugano clings to moments of the present, drawing comfort and security from the company of her brother. Two lonely souls so physically alike, yet spiritually divergent, unaware of the challenges these conflicting expectations will unveil in the days to come.

Of course, brother and sister have built up an especially close bond since their tragedy, and this is a major premise of the teasing in the show, but being based on an adult game, there's a whole harem out there for Haruka to play around with (or is it the other way about?), not just his sick sister >_<

The series started airing on October 4th, and I brought up the series in discussion with Z over MSN a while ago, just kept forgetting to post it in here. Anyone else pick this up? UTW have just released episode 11, so I guess it's coming to the end of its run, which is a real shame

I actually picked this up, perhaps against my usual watching tendencies. I quite like it as a character and school anime. I've been pretty uncomfortable with the last few episodes, though...

aha! someone else has watched this. I wondered, but knew someone other'n me would have picked it up

It's a good school anime, and makes good use of a smallish cast (smaller than I've been used to with the last few series I've watched). Very character-driven

Why were you uncomfortable? Expand, as it were

...what? there was a story in there?... well, guess I better rewatch it then... for the sake of the hot, delicious, steaming sex STORY!!

Naw, I've actually enjoyed the odd boob-less episodes as well
I've watched this from the beginning, as UTW's "WARNING: This show is pretty explicit in more ways than one. You have been forewarned." caught my interest. I just finished the last episode of the Sora-arc just a few hours ago, actually. It was some of the best drama I've ever seen, but it's definitely not a SFW anime, and I think I'll have to recommend a good portion of viewer discretion It manages to mix drama, romance and humour together in a blend I can appreciate, and I really liked the characters, even though I feel they could easily have stretched each arc a bit longer (maybe like amagami SS, with 4 episodes per heroine). But of course, if you're an anime novice and a bit doubtful or not too keen on the whole ecchi thing I don't really think I could recommend this...
    ...and a hopeful new year!

see, even you managed to spot a story that's the strength of the anime. The narrative shines through the awkward and the confident smut Though I think that can help drive it a bit

Yeah, I admit the warning intrigued me, and now I realise why they put it so. It's a cracking story and whenever that falls a little the sex drops in seamlessly.

Viewer discretion is advised, yes. But I didn't necessarily want to put this in the NBB. It'd make a good addition to the Recommended thread.

Sorry, I lost you on the whole "not keen on ecchi" thing...

I'm sure there are more heart-warming stories out there, but it is a lovely show Glad to see there's someone else about who wasn't turned off by the premise and therefore didn't even give it the time of day.
