    Talking Armored Beutes!

Hey, I been thinking, and i've listened to the umpteenth girl on wow complain about plate armor bikinis.

now, I've been mulling this over for a while now, why must we go completely UN functional when it comes to Armor for women?

the practice for kningts in the middle ages was to wear plates of armor as segments, over chain or leather.

what i want you to do, is prove to me(with photographic evidence) that it is possible to have sexy AND functional armor.

(i have been challenged by my Guildmaster to come up with drawn or Game CG of such armor.)

    Please help!

I'm sure plate armour bikinis fulfil the function they were forged for: male titillation while offering various levels of protection to the important bits of of the fierce female fighter

Aside from the dignity and grace of Saber, I can't really find examples that seem to functional enough while showing enough That won't stop me searching though. I'll get back to you on this, have my word

Plate bikinis do not protect agains a slashing sword, thrusting dagger(naughty!), Peircing arrow, or bashing club. now, a plate bikini over Chain or leather, why do we not see that at all?

or perhaps a leather armor that is less dominatrix and more well equipped huntress?

thrusting dagger? oo-er You have inspired one particular search term now I think leather armour should be more dominatrix rather than less, for preference

This is an image request, and i know it's impossible for Hinarei to do this(not that i think that's a bad thing) so i really need some one else to contribute.

Well.. I found a few, most look pretty much the same so I tried to get a representative for each style

    If the image doesn't load..

And click here for a tiny gallery

Basically, you have to design an armour that still shows off the so called womanly curves and possibly shows some skin.

My understanding of functional personal armor is almost nonexistent. But since a) Aeris will hardly get dozens of answers anyway and b) his problem does fascinate me somehow, let me share a couple of links.

I admit that my judgement of functional was merely by looks and I have no working knowledge of the intrigued workings of protecting the curves

so you've posted armour that looks as though it'd offer more protection than the standard issue bikini option. I doubt that very many of us here are experts in the field, but bear in mind where this is posted I very much doubt complete accuracy is what we're after here.

I refuse to admit defeat yet, Aeris! I sincerely doubt my capacity to provide you anything worthwhile, but we might find something passable

By the way, there is no historical referance to portray female armor from any time period, but, the pictures posted i see are still subjective(coming from the female guildies) and don't protect against certain limbs being removed.

I asked them what they'd like to see

    They said:

Herra: protect the parts of the body that are vast expanses of skin, like thighs and backs.

Kittyfaust: Bind the breasts(she was referring to the practice of wrapping the chest of a womanlike motoko from love hina)

HippieHugger: (for leather armor) Make it look scavenged, but sewn in the feild(after longer discussion she was thinking of a female daniel boone style thing.

Deb: plate/chain skirts as opposed to bikinis, and a better articulated chestpeice to keep the womanly flexibility.

Now, with these statements in mind, and with my leisurely knowledge of armor mechanics and theory

armor must be articulated to allow the movements of the wearer, for women, this is often represented by an unarmored midriff, this is oklay until an archer nails you in the gut.

perhaps there is a safe/lifesaving alternative?
