Ive only recently watched it, thanks to my university dorm mate introducing me to it.
And omfg this is by far my favourite anime ever - its so sweet yet depressing yet cheerful and... BWARGHGHRHGREHGEAURGAL its wonderful!

Love this anime to bits ^_^ My best friend IRL actually was the one who introduced me to Kanon. First anime that made me LEGIT cry.
Favourite character? Really tough decision... but I'd have to say it's a tie between Mai, Makoto, and of course Ayu (uugu~)

Oh yes, Selo actually has a pretty decent taste for drama, and as he says: If you liked Kanon Clannad will probably hit bulls-eye ;)
I really liked both those shows myself, and I actually felt kind of touched by it. Also - I presume you watched the 2006 KyoAni remake? I've watched the original 13 episodes from 2002 as well, and those were nothing near the 2006-version.

Ayu was the best, I didn't find myself caring that much for the other girls probably because they introduced her so early and everything else just seemed to get in the way of things between them.
This board has not enough love for Nayuki.
She's supposedly the crowd favourite, you know. Majority of fans prefer her over Ayu.
Have you actually played the Visual Novel before? I'd highly recommend you do that, to get the full experience. I was reduced to tears by the end of it.
