Just got around to reading all of these. I'm still surprised about angel beats though (even though im still like on #5 , i somehow don't feel like finishing it, but since you say its good, i'll finish it eventually). I've actually never seen what type of anime gto is, but since billgoku had it as his avatar, somehow I don't feel like checking it . Hmm, you say toHeart is a romance eh? I'll have to check it out.

I do agree with the following, although id move em a bit up:
    - cross game
    - kimi kiss
    - suzuka
    - school rumble
    - fma

    And I kinda disagree with
    - Higashi
    - True Tears
    - Kanon
    - REC

I mean, i did like them, I just didn't think they were all that great.

I like both Angel Beats and Clannad but to say Angel Beats was better?

    Spoiler

    While Clannad:

    Spoiler

But, that's just my 2 cents.

Hmmm hard for me to decided on this one and I am too lazy to think of reasons now. So I will just throw out a bunch of random anime that I feel deserves to be listed as my favorite

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann - Because it is just so epic
Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya - Because of Philosophy
    CLANNAD
    Kanon 2006 (haven't seen the 2002 tho)
    Samurai X
    Gatekeepers
    Full Metal Alchemist
    Fate/Stay Night
    Cooking Master Boy
    Rave: Groove Adventure

The rest of the anime I've seen was amusing, but pretty much that, so it didn't leave much of an impression on me That or I forgot them (which will end up with me coming back here to post whatever series I may have forgotten)

Right, I completely forgot to list my favourites with reasons:

    1. Clannad - I don't think I need to explain this one
    2. Evangelion - Or this one either
    3. Angel Beats - It was short, but it mixed comedy with some great moments, combined with a great setting
    4. To Love-Ru - Great story, great characters, great comedy, starting to drag on with the seriousness
    5. Haruhi Suzumiya - Something about it was catchy, and I survived endless eight
    6. FLCL - Benefited from having only 6 episodes, and was bizarre as all hell
    7. Gurren Lagann - Started off real slow, tacky romance, but made up for it with such an awesome ending

To Love-Ru was completely unexpected and it has a shot at 3rd spot if it continues well. I could only list 7 because others were decent or ok, nothing I could really call a favourite.

Yeah it was a tough choice, but eventhough Clannad was awesome, the amount of episodes and fillers in the 2 seasons made me decide Angel Beats was better.
A romance type anime works better with less episodes, although half a season (13-ish episodes) is too short

Gurren Lagann is cool but not my cup of tea
Suzumiya was awesome but the second season killed it for me
Clannad/Kanon/FMA/Fate all in my list!! good choice mate
Samurai X/Gatekeepers both wouldn't reach my top 100 tbh
Cooking Master Boy was awesome! but since i come from a family of chefs, it's like a footballer watching Captain Tsubasa do his tornado kick
Rave was meh in my opinion

Eva is a bit overrated in my opinion, although great, not top 10 worthy
To Love-Ru is pure otaku material, its fun and entertaining, it doesn't deserve to stand besides Clannad or Hikaru no Go
FLCL was too wacky for my taste, never liked it

Well, the thing with Clannad is that since it came from a visual novel, it'd have a very comprehensive storyline involving many characters Now of course they could just focus on Nagisa and the main storyline, but that'd make players of the VN (myself included) disappointed in the anime

Of course, some of these storylines are a tad too filler-ish, if not continued completely. (they could have at least showed Tomoya getting the lights for all characters so that the fillers had a purpose in the main story or something )

I have never watched the second season of Haruhi so... good for me?
And I guess some of the ones that I enjoy I guess I put in my list for more sentimental reasons

    Also to add:
    You're under arrest!

In the novel, yes, but not in the anime Only one I remember them showing him getting the light was for Yukine

It's not quite like Lucky Star. Lucky Star relies on pop culture in Japan for lots of the jokes and the episodes are all hit and miss.

Well yeah, the thing with lucky star is that there are so much references that I just don't get Pure fanservice + comedy would be alright I guess

The lack of Code Geass disgusts me :\ Definitely a show worthy of a top 20 position. No Haruhi? What is this?

    5. This one's tough, as i'm stopping my TOP list here, i'ma say a tie, for different reasons, these two win:

Over-reliance on Miyafujesus, possibly, but I positively embraced the series for the latter of your reasonings Also Shuffle!, much for the same reason. Nerine was the reason I got into it, but Primula is who kept me interested

the loli doesn't need to be stuffed under a pillow, mate. Stuffed, but not under the pillow

I need to put my own list together

I am intrigued by part of your last post in that you say you've dated Love Hina character types didn't manage to gather them all in a hot spring bath at once, did you?

michigan has a shortage of Hot springs... but does a pool count?

    that was almost bloody...lol

not in he nosebleed sense, in the sense that they almost at every available opportunity were doing little catty things like snapping bras.

i had to step in at last, and (this is what separates me from keitaro) tell them they all got their chance, there should be no hard feelings.

i was almost GLARED to death.
